With Featured Recommendations, you can highlight specific products in galleries across your entire webshop. Think of showcasing bestsellers on the homepage or presenting new arrivals in the shopping cart.
In this article, we explain how to configure these Featured Recommendations, covering the type, selection, layout, and sorting.
The Type
Navigate to Recommendations in the Tweakwise App.
Here, you will see an overview of the three types: Featured, Up- & Cross-selling, and Manual. You can easily filter the list by type by clicking on the 'Type' column.
Click on New and select Featured to create a new Featured Recommendation.
Give your recommendation a clear name and set the desired number of results.
The Selection
Under the Selection heading, you determine which "pool" the products should be drawn from.
Category: Select the category from which the system should retrieve products.
Variation in results: To prevent your recommendation block from being filled with nearly identical products, you can enforce variation:
No variation: Simply shows the top products based on your sorting rules.
One item per (sub)category: Ensures a broader overview of different product groups.
One item per unique attribute value: Highly precise; for example, show a maximum of one item per brand or per color to prevent dominance by a single characteristic.
Attribute conditions: Want to refine the selection further? Use conditions to filter specific items.
Textual values: Use attributes like Color or Brand and determine which values to include or exclude using the available operators.
Numerical values: Use attributes like Price to set a specific range.
Combining: You can stack unlimited conditions by clicking Add condition.
The Layout
In this section, you determine how the products are visually presented.
Manage positions: You can assign specific components to certain positions in the grid. Click on a position to select a component and use drag & drop to change the order. Use the three dots to edit, duplicate, or delete the component.
Builder templates: You can link an existing Builder template for a uniform look. Want to start from scratch? Simply unlink the current template to reset the layout.
Sorting
Finally, choose a Sorting rule to determine the final display order of the recommended products.
Click Save & Exit and your new Featured Recommendation is ready in the overview.
