The Suggestions Module allows you to influence which search suggestions are displayed when a visitor enters a search term. This replaces the former Autocomplete functionality.

You can configure suggestions at the category level, meaning you can apply specific conditions per category. In addition, you can easily see which manually added and automatically established suggestions are active for each category. The standard use is on shop or root level. 

All established and manually added search suggestions are combined into one central module. From there, you can manage everything in one place and easily export or import manual suggestions as a CSV file.

When opening the current suggestion settings, you’ll see an overview of all active suggestion groups. You can choose which suggestions to enable or disable using the eye icon .

The order of the suggestion groups determines which suggestions are shown first. Product suggestions are always displayed last. You can adjust the order easily using drag and drop.

Search suggestions

Based on the Wisdom of the Crowd principle: search terms that are frequently used by visitors are suggested to others. These are supplemented with manual suggestions, which are prioritized over the automatically established ones.

Category suggestions

Guide users more quickly to filtered results. For example, a term like “bra” can automatically be expanded to “braadsledes”, “brandblussers”, or “branders”.

Facet suggestions

Direct users to a specific result based on a product attribute, such as brand or type. This helps speed up the search experience.

Additional Facet suggestions

Add extra attributes to further refine your suggestions — for example, by brand, season, or material.

Product suggestions

Relevant products are automatically displayed based on the search query. You define how many products are shown. These suggestions reflect the actual products that would be shown when performing the search.

Managing Manual suggestions

You can easily manage manual suggestions using the import and export function. Export the existing suggestions, make your changes in the accompanying CSV file, and re-import it into Tweakwise.

After exporting, you’ll see the structure of the file. Simply update your suggestions and upload the file back into Tweakwise.
