The Items module allows you to manually create, modify, or duplicate items, in addition to the items that come in via the product feed. This is ideal for quickly correcting or adding individual items or visuals.
This consists of three parts: creating items, modifying/deleting existing items, and filtering items by origin. Follow the steps for each part.
Creating items
3. Fill in the basic data:
The ID is generated automatically but is adjustable. Note: You may not use an ID that is already in use.
The fields ID, Name, Price and Stock are mandatory for products. For Visuals or other types, Price and Stock are optional.
4. Add attributes:
Select existing attributes and the desired value, or directly add a new attribute or value.
5. Link category: Link the item to the desired categories. For Visuals or other non-product items, the category is optional.
6. Click Save.
Modifying or deleting existing items
Find the item you want to modify in the Items list.
Click Edit to modify the item. Modifying the item is the same as creating a new item as described above, with the difference being that the data is already present.
Choose Delete to remove the item from the Tweakwise database.
Filtering items by origin (source)
To quickly see how an item ended up in the module, use the filter and overview functions:
1. Filter by source: Above the item list, you will see a Source filter. Click on this to filter by:
Feed: Items that came in via the regular product feed.
Backend API: Items created or modified via the API.
Tweakwise app: Items you created directly via this module.
2. Overview: The table also shows the columns Source and Last updated by, so you can immediately see in the list where the data originates and who made the last modification.
Important notes⚠️
Overwriting by Feed (CRUCIAL): Items that are imported via the feed and are modified manually in-app will be overwritten during the next feed import!
Recommended action: If you want to make a permanent change to a feed item, create a copy of the item and modify the copy. The copy has a unique ID and will not be overwritten by the feed.
Access: Do you want to use the Item Management module? Contact your Customer Success Manager to have the functionality activated.
FAQ❓
What is the difference between Feed and Tweakwise App as a Source?
Feed means the item came in via your regular data feed. Tweakwise App means the item was created or modified manually by a user via this module.
Can I modify items I created in the App in bulk as well?
Yes, you can. Use the Import/Export function for this. Click here for the import/export support article.
Can I use an ID I make up myself for a new item?
Yes, you can adjust the automatically generated ID. However, it must be a unique ID that is not already in use within your Tweakwise instance.
Why are 'Price' and 'Stock' optional for Visuals?
Visuals (such as banners or images that are not purchasable products) do not require price and stock information for display, unlike purchasable products.
