If you want to get more out of Tweakwise, you can make attributes available for the endpoint or link them to product information. For example, you can use product and image URLs in the Demoshop and live shop.
To use a Visual Builder component, product URL or image URL, you must link an attribute with the correct value to the desired setting. This also applies when you want to use parameters to exclude or show products in the webshop under certain conditions, or when you need attributes in the endpoint for the implementation such as labels, image variants, and more.
Linking the correct attributes can be done using the following steps.
β
Go to Catalog -> Attributes.
Look up the desired attribute and click the 3 dots. Select 'Use as ...' there.
Then make a choice of where you want to link the attribute. It is possible to link the attribute to multiple types.
Select the dropdown for 'Item characteristic' when you want to link the attribute and corresponding values to the product image, product URL, SKU, brand, or item type.
Choose 'Include/Exclude Parameter' when you want to control which products are shown or not shown in the shop, for example, products that are out of stock, have a certain brand, or another condition. The implementation party will have to implement this exclusion or inclusion.
'API attribute' ensures that the attribute becomes available in the endpoint so that the implementation party can use it for things like labels, discounts, or stock in the product tile. This setting is also necessary when using the Plugin Studio to make attributes available there.
In the dropdown for the article characteristic, you get the following options for linking the attribute:
If you choose API in the dropdown, you can specify a desired display name for use in the endpoint. By default, this is the name of the attribute, which may not be desirable in the case of a derived attribute or when the attribute name is too long.
Checking linked attributes
Through the Attributes overview, you can check which attributes are currently linked and, for an API attribute, which name is used in the endpoint, by filtering on labels.
First, select which type of linked attributes you want to check.

After selection, you will see the chosen types and what type they are.
