If you have products set in Pins and Pins is activated in the applicable sorting option, it will also work in the search results in that category. However, this does not mean that these products will be displayed even if they do not match. Once a product matches in Pins, it does show up at the top of the sorting, although according to normal sorting it would show up in the tenth position, for example.
