Filter templates

Ideally, you want to see different filters for each category. That means that you will have to set up a separate filter template for all your categories. The downside to this is that it takes a lot of maintenance. You can choose to create a master template. A master template is one filter template that contains all filters that you want to see in your entire shop.

You can link this template to the highest level of the category tree. If you want to edit something, you only need to do it in one template, and so this cuts you a lot of slack.

Even if you only have one filter template, you always want to show filters that add value. Tweakwise takes all the filters that aren't used out of the template for the current selection. The category chairs will not show filters like processing speed or power.

It may always happen that there's only one product in a selection that has a value in a filter. This filter will be shown even though that's not always what you want. To solve this, you can set up a minimum threshold percentage in Smart Filters. That allows you to set when a filter is shown. For example, only when a filter is filled for at least 20%. You can read how to do this in the article 'How do Smart Filters work?'
