How does the (Extended) Number recognition algorithm work? – Tweakwise

There are two different algorithms of this sort: the Number recognition and the Exact match search algorithm. The Number recognition search algorithm compares the search query to the product number of the product, as it is known in Tweakwise. You can find the product number in Catalog > Products > General > Part no. field:

The Extended number recognition search algorithm compares the search query to the selected property in the dropdown menu. You can choose product numbers like EAN, SKU, ISBN, et cetera here. The algorithm will search for an exact match. You can remove specific symbols from the search query to make a match more likely. For example, a customer could search for 101-29. Removing the hyphen from the query would change the query to 10129. You can remove the following symbols from search queries:

(/) Slash
(-) Hyphen
(,) Comma
(.) Period
