What's the difference between the 'link' and 'category tree' display types in the category filter settings?

A category tree can show multiple levels of categories. This tree structure can be directly visible or collapsed/collapsible depending on your front-end implementation.

In the link type of category tree, only one level is shown. So when a visitor clicks the Koken & tafelen category, only this category and its children categories will be shown.
