Most webshops feature a search bar that lets you search the entire site for one or several search terms.
In addition to the regular search functionality, suggestions can already be shown when typing in the search bar.
The customer can then stop typing and simply select the correct search phrase suggestion.

The search phrase suggestions in this example also contain a so-called ‘product suggestion’.
Product suggestions are pre-selected products related to the search terms that were used.

Search phrase suggestions are based on the Wisdom of the Crowd principle. This refers to the idea that a large group of people is collectively smarter than individual experts. In other words: we use the search queries of a large group of webshop visitors to help other individuals with their search. The product suggestions also display the best product matches of a regular search.
