Release notes

In recent months we have been working on all kinds of improvements and optimizations We will briefly explain the following points:

Features

Search Banner Module

Within the Search category, there is the Banners module. This module lets you easily set up your own search banner. A search banner is an ad that is displayed on a search results page. This ad consists of a clickable image, which leads to a new page. Banners can be used for various purposes:

  • Stimulate sales of certain products
  • Highlight certain offers
  • Showcasing certain products or brands

The Banners module lets you set up a banner for a certain period, based on specified search terms or for all search terms.

Description automatically generated

Our Javascript implementation contains this module out-of-the-box. The API implementation requires you to have your implementation partner implement the feature.

Personal merchandising metrics

Retention in days and the number of profiles are now visible in the Tweakwise dashboard.

Graphical user interface, applicationDescription automatically generated

The "Retention in days" is the time in days between the oldest and newest profile. You can read this as an estimated value of how long a PM profile stays "alive". The "Number of profiles" is the number of PM profiles for that specific instance.

Autocomplete should 'match on start of every word' &  Extend product suggestions with URL attribute

We have developed a new way to display improved and faster results for the category suggestions and attribute suggestions. Note! This may result in different but better results than before. We also made changes to the product suggestions, Products results are expanded with extra data, we have added the property URL to the response as requested by Social Deal

Optimizations

New derived property Concatenate

With this property, it is possible for example to merge multiple existing properties or to specify extra characters like 'mm'. Thanks to this property, we don't have to use the derived property Advanced anymore to achieve the same result.

Improved error message feed import

Also in this release, we have been working on improving our error messages when it comes to feed import issues. In the past weeks, we have seen with some customers that the feed import fails, after investigation it appears that this is because we try to download the feed and at the same time the customer tries to keep the feed on their site up-to-date. The error messages that result from this were unclear and therefore we have created a better error message for the customer.

'Combine' derived attributes should cope with multiple values

In this property, we have made it possible to set multiple conditions for the same value. This means that for the same value you can set multiple conditions and are no longer bound to a single AND or OR operator.

Configure currency symbol JavaScript implementation

You can now configure the currency symbol! So our JS customers are no longer stuck to the € sign on product tiles. Of course, this will still remain the default currency.

Changes and bugfixes

Sorting breaks due to conflict with PrototypeJS

We fixed a bug where the sorting didn't work due to a conflict with the PrototypeJS library (used generally in Magento shops).

Backend API shows deleted categories without a way of knowing if they are deleted

In general, the Backend API is running in the "old" way again using the categoryId. If you want to use a fabricated key you can use the call: getbykey to retrieve the categoryId.

PLP doesn't load when hash is #tn_q=

In this release, we've fixed a bug where the product lister page (JS medium) would not load when the Tweakwise hash was '#twn|?tn_q='. This specific bug was caused when a user would enter a search term, then remove it, and then hard-reload the page.
