You can choose how many values need to be shown by default in the filter template. If there are more values than you indicated in the facet, the possibility to Show more will be added, and the other values will only be shown once a customer clicks that.

You may want to show the values in another order than they are currently sorted in when the filter is expanded. You might want to manually sort the values for the collapsed view and show the five most essential brands here. If a customer then clicks Show more, you want to sort all the values in alphabetical order. 

The first Sorting of values block allows you to set which sorting method you want to use in the collapsed view. The second block Sorting of values when the filter is expanded allows you to set the order of the values when the filter is expanded.

When you click Manual, a new option will be revealed. Click the Sort values button to set the order of values within the filter.

NOTE: A different sorting method only works once your implementation partner has implemented it. This feature is available for Magento 1 users from extension version v2.0.0 and Magento 2 users from extension version v1.4.9.
